Make a difference as a SAVES Helpline Advocate

Volunteering with the SAVES’ 24-hour Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Helpline can be a life-changing experience for people who want to help others. By supporting people who call our helpline, volunteers encourage a social climate in which every human being has the right to live without fear of sexual violence. They support people in crisis, provide information to family and loved ones, help to dispel myths, and learn valuable listening and communication skills.
Trainings are held in the spring and fall, and classes meet once/week for 12 weeks.
Potential advocates must be at least 18 years of age, and the training is free to those volunteering their time to the helpline.
For further information or an application for the program, contact SAVES by phone at 207-778-9522, by e-mail, or come by the office at The Holman House, 227 Main Street, 2nd floor, Farmington, ME.
